WHAT TO EXPECT The purpose of this role is to ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained through product conformance to agreed quality standards and processes. The responsibility of the Test, Teardown & Metrology Technician will be primarily completing quality control audits of all product, investigation of rejected product and safe stripback of high voltage packs This is to ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained through product conformance to specified quality and engineering standards and processes. In addition, the identification of process control improvements and problem solving will ensure sustained improvements to business performance; Also to maintain the battery test processes, facilities and systems in line with specified Engineering and Conformity of Production requirements. • Teardown of product in line with quality control documents to correct timeliness and raising of any issues found with required escalation against given scoring. • Investigation of production quality rejects, using varying electrical diagnostical tools and techniques to Safe Systems of Work. • Absolute safety standards are being met regarding electrification, and the understanding of unsafe electrical practices, prevention of arc-flashes in process. • Rigging product to testbeds correctly as per Safe System of Work and running tests as required. • Signing into and completion of live work as per required documentation to correct process. • Ability to make the call on on-line quality concerns regarding the product as a product safety and quality perspective. • Working Ad-hoc as required as a physical teardown specialist regarding trials requested from other functions or line manager. WHAT YOU'LL NEED Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including: • Experience in diagnosing and investigating electrical faults of components. • Experience of using varying electrical investigation tooling and techniques (insulation testing, breakdown detect, voltage withstand, resistance monitoring etc.) • Understanding of electrical safe working and prevention of arc-flash from electrical knowledge. • Experience of using a range of mechanical tooling such as CNC machines, circular saws, bandsaws, cut-off saws, air powered equipment and safe practice of such. • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a physical discipline, preferably Electrical but also could be Mechanical, Maintenance or Engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, IMI etc.) • MS Office skills – experienced using Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
