Distribution operates across a multitude of sites within the UK&I, covering circa 350 employed or contracted drivers. This role covers the Rotherham and Middlesbrough Operations, circa 18 drivers and 18 vehicles.
This position is accountable for the following end results:
* Adherence to all safety rules, processes, and procedures, as safety is a condition of employment.
* Maintain, develop, and apply knowledge of relevant procedures within our distribution organisation
* Ensure operation remains compliant in all aspects of transport legislation
* Develop, drive and support improvements in Costs and Compliance using Key Metrics.
* Coach and support team improvement
* Work cross functionally with other departments
* Provide safe support and assistance to colleagues while being accountable for your own performance
* Identifying and supporting programs to improve safety & efficiency in line with business objectives
* Strive to maximize internal and external customer satisfaction
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience in a fast-paced Distribution environment with full knowledge of Transport Legislation
* Experience of building relationships with Industrial Relations representatives.
* Experience in Supervision of a Team
* Proven track record of working within a safety-first environment
* Ability to work under own initiative with excellent communication skills
* Good time management and the ability to plan and prioritise tasks to meet the demands of multiple requests
* Flexibility to adapt workday to meet operational requirements (start early or finish late)
* Proven ability to adapt to change
* IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office programs, in particular the ability to use Excel and word is desirable
* Transport Manager Certificate Professional Competence (preferrable)
* Large Goods Vehicle Licence /ADR and Driver CPC (preferrable)
