What you’ll be doing
* Position: Senior Claims Assessor
* Claims Management: Proactively assess claims from both medical and financial perspectives, ensuring accurate interpretation of policy documentation and timely decisions.
* Customer Focus: Deliver exceptional service by maintaining regular, clear communication and adhering to Treating Customers Fairly principles.
* Technical Leadership: Support the Claims team with payment checking, mentoring, and coaching, helping to build technical capability across the department.
* Collaboration: Work closely with rehabilitation teams, clients, and internal stakeholders to promote return-to-work strategies and maintain strong partnerships.
* Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process enhancements, participate in change initiatives, and provide valuable management information.

We’re seeking individuals with
* Proven experience in assessing Income Protection Claims
* Strong understanding of long-term medical conditions, NHS systems, and rehabilitation processes
* Experience using claims management tools such as functional assessments
* Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
* Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor junior team members
The ideal candidate will come from a similar background in Group Risk Insurance.
