Support for Learning Teacher – Highland & Islands, Scotland
Do you have a passion for helping every young person reach their full potential? We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Support for Learning Teacher to join our team in the stunning Highland and Islands region of Scotland.
About the Role
You will work closely with pupils, staff, and families to provide targeted support for learners with additional support needs. Your role will be key in ensuring inclusive practices are embedded across the school, enabling all pupils to access the curriculum and thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and support pupils with additional learning needs
Develop and implement Individualised Education Programmes (IEPs) and support plans
Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to adapt learning materials and strategies
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support pupil development
Monitor, track, and report on progress and attainment
Promote inclusive practices across the school community
What We’re Looking For
Qualified teacher with GTCS registration
Experience or strong interest in additional support needs (ASN)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Empathy, patience, and a commitment to inclusive education
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
