Role: Housing Assistant – Rent Arrears & Housing Management Support
Location: Edinburgh South East
Hours: Monday to Friday (36 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £14.02 per hour
Duration: Temporary Ongoing
Start Date: Immediate

What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting Housing Officers with rent arrears cases, including monitoring accounts and early intervention work
Assisting with general housing management tasks across the locality team
Contacting tenants by phone, email and in person to discuss rent accounts and payment options
Updating housing systems with accurate case notes and financial information
Supporting tenancy sustainment through advice, signposting and practical assistance
Handling customer enquiries professionally and sensitively
Assisting with estate-related tasks, inspections and wider housing support activities
Working to deadlines and contributing to effective service delivery
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in an administrative or customer-focused role
Confidence communicating with customers, including around sensitive financial matters
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to work well as part of a team and manage competing priorities
Confident using Microsoft Office and internal systems
A calm, professional and supportive approachDesirable:
Experience in housing, rent arrears, income recovery or local authority services
Experience working within a locality or neighbourhood-based team
