Mechanical or Electrical Commissioning Manager ( Data Centres ) - London - contract 6 month ++ OR permanent
One of Europe's leading Building Services Commissioning management consultancies is urgently seeking good Commissioning Managers with a solid track record in Data Centre projects to join their ever growing team on a London DC project. We are looking for someone who can drive the trades on the project and chair the meetings to keep the project on track. You need to have good project management skills and great client communication skills. This role requires someone capable of leading the commissioning meetings and driving the process.
Job Purpose SummaryThe role of our commissioning managers is to see that building services systems will be, are or have been put to work properly and in accordance with relevant requirements. Determining that this is the case could be achieved through any of the following:1.Managing the commissioning process2.Validating that the commissioning process and seeing that results obtained align with requirements3.Inspecting existing systems to determine how they perform4.Providing consultative advice in determining commissioning and performance requirements, commissioning strategies, programmes, scopes of work and the like.5.Carrying out measurements, surveys and other technical inspectionsAdditionally, at all times:Engaging with other members of the Company to help improve existing systems and proceduresTalking the role of Champion in an area of specific technical interestTo promote the company and the wider group through marketing activities
Key Attributes1.A capable, technically competent engineer with drive, enthusiasm and a high attention to detail2.Hold recognised engineering qualifications, and ideally Bachelor of Engineering3.Have detailed technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and/or building control systems4.A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Project5.Be creative and innovative6.Have an ability to multi task7.Be task and deadline focussed8.Hold effective supervisory and organisational skills9.Be able to lead teams10.Be able to motivate self and team members11.Be able to resolve issues in a timely manner12.Be flexible and dependable13.Be able to work in multifaceted working environments14.Be able to consistently produce high quality project work15.Be able to efficiently communicate in both written and oral forms
Key Responsibilities1.To act safely at all times in compliance with the Companys health and safety policy and procedures.2.To work diligently, efficiently and professionally at all times3.To ensure technical compliance and high quality production of our deliverables4.To fully adopt the Companys project management systems5.To maintain an acute awareness of project finances and control expenditure thereof6.To attend meetings as required7.To prepare technical reports8.To develop project specific commissioning management/validation documents and procedures9.To comment on drawings, manuals and technical submittals10.To develop project specific method statements, test scripts and the like11.To be aware and report internally on project scope change12.To work with other members of a professional team in evaluating progress, difficulties and costs13.To undertake hands on commissioning work as necessary
General Duties1.To look ahead with a view to arranging test instrumentation required for testing2.To assist in the development of tender submissions3.To accurately complete timesheets on a weekly basis4.To pre-actively support other members of staff in undertaking their work
