Responsiblefor planning developing and managing the Aviation Services fiberoptic communication infrastructure networks. Prepares and reviewscomprehensive plans for the Airport project plans contracts andspecifications. Supervise the engineering and installation ofpathways telecommunication rooms backbone cabling and horizontalcabling to meet or exceed EIA/TIA industry standards by usingstructured cabling (DOA standard). Plays an active role in networkplanning and assisting field personnel in maintenance replacementand renewal of fiber optic network infrastructure. Collaborateswith Airport staff engineers developers utility representatives andcontractors. Conduct engineering placing splicing and terminatingboth singlemode and multimode fiber optic cables. Conduct test withvarious cable testing and analytical tools with an Optical TimeDomain Reflectometer (OTDR) fiber cable radius routingspecifications and network synchronization.
Work activities will include thefollowing:
* Planssupervises and participates in the design construction installationmaintenance and repair of the Airports fiber optic network.
* Assists staff in analysis and diagnosis ofproblems troubleshooting equipment and system failures.
* Cable Installation quotes gathering for relatedproject
* Supervising internal and externalcable installers.
* Developing SOW for cablework.
* Perform Cable Moves Adds and Changes(including termination and testing)
* Servicingincluding rapid response troubleshooting and repair
* Network design drawings on electronic media

Minimum Qualifications Education andExperience
* A BS degree inelectronics telecommunications (or equivalent) field and/or 3 yearsworking experience or 5 years cable engineeringexperience.
* Potential candidates will bequalified to design and implement the following:
* CAT5 CAT5e data cabling
* CAT6 CAT6edata cabling
* Coax Cable TV installs
* Fiber Optics
* Wireless Local AreaNetworks and Telecommunications Systems
* LocalArea Networks
* Interfaces into WAN technologies& DWDM
* Knowledge of Avaya Cisco VoIPTelephone system & cabling infrastructure
* Experience with Panduit solutions is a plus. RCCDCertification is a plus.
