Role:
Seeking to recruit an ambitious and talented individual to help the directors lead on the next phase of rapid growth. The Associate Director will develop the business and services, manage client requirements, and lead a small but growing team of digital engineering and sustainability consultants.
A key responsibility is ensuring all IES modelling outputs are accurate and meet high standards. The candidate must balance legislative requirements with innovative thinking to meet and surpass the net zero carbon challenge in existing buildings. Experience with ApacheHVAC, understanding building operations, and delivering BREEAM credits are essential.
The company is a delivery partner for NABERS UK, and the successful applicant will shape their service offering related to this rating system and EPC requirements.
Their conceptual designs are likely to be implemented in supported assets, providing a unique opportunity to see projects from concept to operation and contribute to achieving net-zero.
Responsibilities:
* Use initiative with minimal supervision
* Interpret client instructions accurately and confidently in stakeholder discussions
* Manage multiple projects and deadlines proactively, ensuring timely delivery and crisis management
* Supervise and develop a high-performing team
* Identify and lead business development opportunities
* Produce clear client reports and technical documents
Essential Skills:
* A degree in engineering or sciences (BEng or BSc)
* At least three years’ experience with IES VE
* Knowledge of NABERS UK
* Experience with BREEAM credits (ENE, HEA04, etc.), BRUKL reports, energy strategies, NZC/Energy audits, LCC planning, and LCA calculations
* Professional accreditation such as MCIBSE, CIBSE Level 5 (EPC/BRUKL), CEng or IEng, ESOS Lead Assessor, BREEAM Assessor
Desirable Skills:
* Additional professional memberships and certifications such as MEI Chartered Energy Manager, IES VE ApacheHVAC
