Role: Head of Finance
As the No.1 in finance, you will manage daily financial operations and play a pivotal role in the company’s growth. Supporting strategic initiatives, this hands-on role involves leading month-end and year-end activities, improving processes, and shaping the future of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting and Audit Oversight:
o Prepare and deliver management accounts monthly and quarterly, and produce annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.
o Oversee year-end accounts and audits, liaising with external auditors.
o Ensure accuracy of financial data.
* Tax and Compliance:
o Manage VAT returns and ensure timely submissions to HMRC.
o Oversee PAYE and other tax obligations, ensuring compliance.
o Complete ONS surveys within deadlines.
* Payroll Management:
o Oversee payroll across two UK sites, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
o Address payroll errors and implement pre-approval processes for adjustments.
* Process Improvement and Documentation:
o Develop SOPs for payroll, VAT, financial reporting, and surveys.
o Review and improve data entry and validation processes.
* Budgeting and Cost Management:
o Manage budgets and support growth initiatives.
o Track and report on logistics cost reduction efforts.
* Team Leadership and Support:
o Lead and develop the finance team.
* Stakeholder Communication:
o Provide financial insights to the CEO and report to the Group on financial performance and cost savings.
Experience & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience as a No.1 in finance, with strong technical skills, team management experience, and the ability to drive strategic change and financial accountability across a business.
