Roadworker
Location: Oban
Contract: Full Time, Permanent (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
Additional Requirements: Nightshift, Overtime & Standby Rota
BEAR Scotland is a leading provider of road maintenance and management services, responsible for maintaining Scotland’s vital trunk road network across the North West of the country.
We are seeking experienced, safety-conscious Roadworkers to join our established team based at our Perth depot.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out general carriageway maintenance and repair works
2. Install and manage traffic management systems, including signs, cones and barriers
3. Lay, patch and remove road materials
4. Undertake drainage, vegetation control and road furniture works
5. Operate small plant, tools and company vehicles
6. Respond to emergencies and participate in winter maintenance operations
7. Work safely at all times to protect colleagues, road users and the public
What We’re Looking For
8. Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
9. LGV Class C licence (desirable)
10. Experience in roadworks, highways maintenance or construction
11. Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
12. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Standby Requirement:
Applicants must be able to reach the Perth depot within 30 minutes when on standby (essential).
