First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Business Development Manager on behalf of one of our clients within the packaging industry.
As a Business Development Manager you are responsible for the sales and business development of bespoke packaging solutions to customers across a number of verticals including, but not limited to the defence sector, and as well as winning business in local markets for packaging consumers. Currently this includes all opportunities presenting within the United Kingdom as well as the Republic of Ireland. You will identify and capture new opportunities in the markets in close collaboration with the European Defence Leader, other Defence Account Managers as well as Sub-Regional and Local Management.
It is your job to identify and analyse customer’s requirements and desired solutions. You will need to fully understand the customers’ needs and effectively work with different departments, including but not limited to Engineering, Sourcing and Operations locally and international sister companies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prospect and win new business from packaging customers in and around territory (Northampton)
2. Responsible for the execution of the defence strategy in the UK market.
3. Identify and capture new opportunities within the defence Initiative in the market.
4. Prospecting and developing new sales of products & services towards customers in the defence sector.
5. Support in building up of local resources to successfully manage defence projects – including successful awareness campaign within key players in the UK.
6. Drive the business with existing and new defence customers, keeping in mind the company’s current strategy, goals and objectives.
7. Frequent exchange with European Defence Leader to leverage from established contacts & emerging potentials.
8. Conduct Sustainability Initiatives and cost take out exercises (CTOs) on strategic customer accounts within the defence sector where applicable.
9. Supervising/managing key projects of selected accounts if applicable.
10. Develop, implement and follow a governance process for defence projects in the market.
11. Successfully monitor tender / procurement channels relevant in the defence sector.
12. Maintain regular, professional and proactive communication with customer base as well as local and European team.
13. Obtain customer documents necessary to properly facilitate RFQ’s, order processing, booking, shipment, installation, acceptance, invoicing and payment.
