Salary c. £33,000 to £36,000 per annum

The Safeguarding Support Officer will provide pro-active safeguarding support that lifts minimum compliance to consistent best practice across clubs and counties, strengthens a safer culture for children and adults at risk, and supports the delivery of England Golf's safeguarding across the game.
This role will work closely with our development and membership team and the clubs and counties within our network to provide practical support, training, awareness and education to help deliver the organisations strategic aims on being a safe sport.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
Knowledge and experience of safeguarding principles and practice for children and adults at risk, including thresholds and multi-agency working.
Understanding of safeguarding and the roles and responsibilities of statutory agencies.
High level of integrity and trust with the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters.
Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate effective time management and organisation skills whilst maintaining a high level of integrity and trust.
Strong facilitation and presentation skills for in-person and virtual settings, adapting to different audiences.
Display and encourage attitudes and behaviours that respects and values diversity and promotes equal opportunity.
The successful applicant needs to be highly motivated with a positive solution focussed attitude and a clear understanding of confidentiality and the principles of data protection. A knowledge of the game of golf is not essential for the role.
This post has been identified as involving access to adults at risk and children at risk and in line with England Golf policy successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service Check and must also have attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course (SPC) or be willing to undertake one.
The post is full-time, with flexible working hours to meet the requirements of the role (Monday - Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours) but you will be required to work some weekends and evenings with overnight stays. This position is homebased, successful candidates will be required to travel on a regular basis to club, counties, and other meetings. and will be expected to attend meetings and events at our headquarters at Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire.
