NHS Grampian is delighted at the prospect of expanding the Obstetric & Gynaecology Department at Dr Gray’s Hospital (DGH). DGH is NHS Grampian’s district general hospital serving the people of Moray. It prides itself on delivering essential services and advocating for patients to be safely cared for close to home. We provide a comprehensive Gynaecology and Maternity service, with a current model of midwifery-led intrapartum care.
The Scottish Government have committed £6.6millon funding for the multi-professional team required to deliver a new model of Consultant-led Obstetric services by the end of 2026. This is fully endorsed by the NHS Grampian Board and supported by NHS Highland in the development of networked pathways of care.
We are seeking Obstetric & Gynaecology Specialty Doctor colleagues to join our expanding team at this exciting phase of service re-design. You will be fully supported by a thriving, friendly department and wider hospital team. You will be encouraged to take forward service and academic development, with opportunity to accommodate sub-specialty interests in NHS Grampian and within North of Scotland networks.
Applications from experienced overseas candidates who have not previously worked in the NHS are encouraged. As a small friendly department, this post would be an excellent introduction into work in the NHS and the local team would look to support and mentor successful international applicants working in the NHS for the first time. Due to the size of the hospital there are extensive opportunities to get involved in development activities from departmental, regional and national level.
Individualised job planning can be tailored to the requirements of both service and applicants; this could include flexible/part-time/annualised work patterns.
Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post). For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
If you are interested in joining the team at Dr Gray’s we would be delighted to invite you to visit the hospital and speak to our clinicians about the work of the department as well as an insight to the recreational activities in the surrounding area.
