About The Role
What will I be doing?
You'll keep our Middlesbrough energy recovery plant running safely and efficiently:
* Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, including fitting, fabrication, welding, cutting, and complex machinery overhauls.
* Inspect and maintain critical equipment such as gearboxes, cranes, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
* Provide technical support to colleagues across functions and contribute to continuous improvements in plant performance.
* Participate in a 24-hour call-out rota to respond to plant breakdowns outside normal hours (fully compensated).

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds — your practical expertise and commitment to safety are what matter most:
* Completed engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent experience) with proven maintenance engineering in process plant, heavy engineering, or similar environments.
* Qualification to City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, plus basic electrical knowledge and welding experience.
* Hands-on knowledge of equipment including gearboxes, conveyors, and hydraulics; steam raising/boiler experience highly advantageous.
* Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH) and ability to use Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
