AMPT Special Projects is focused on applying our F1-derived high-performance engineering, innovation, technical expertise and breakthrough technologies, to deliver high-performance engineering projects outside of Formula One.
With a programme portfolio that spans automotive and non-automotive sectors, we are looking for a range of driven, world-class engineers to join us on this exciting journey of solving complex challenges beyond the racetrack.
We have a new opportunity to be part of the Aston Martin Performance Technologies special projects team in the role of Senior Structural Engineer.
As a Senior Structural Engineer within the Special Projects team, you will lead the structural analysis and optimisation of mechanical and composite components from concept through to delivery. You will take ownership of large-scale projects, guide junior engineers, and help drive innovation across analysis tools and methods directly contributing to the development of cutting-edge, world-class engineering technologies.
You will also represent AMPT externally, ensuring a high technical and professional standard is maintained with customers, partners, suppliers, and institutions.

* Managing project targets, timelines, and multi-tasking across concurrent projects.
* Developing and enhancing tools and processes to improve analytical efficiency and accuracy.
* Contributing to material/process research and regulatory compliance.
* Collaborating cross-functionally to resolve issues arising in design, testing, and manufacturing.
* Driving concept generation and innovation across structural design.
* Supporting project tracking, reporting, and use of engineering business systems.
* Representing the Structures function in meetings with senior stakeholders when required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Degree in Automotive, Mechanical, Motorsport Engineering or similar.
* Extensive experience in F1, elite motorsport, or high-end technology environments.
* Deep expertise in structural analysis using FEA; ideally Altair Hypermesh.
* Proficient in hand calculations and tool development; Python experience is a plus.
* Demonstrated ability to lead on technical content and present to senior stakeholders/directors.
* Strong mentoring and coaching capability within an engineering team environment.
* Proven ability in project ownership, time management, and delivery.
* Flexible, self-motivated, and collaborative mindset.
* Excellent communicator, resilient, and committed to safety and quality at all levels.
Benefits
Investing in your career is paramount. We promote professional and personal development through a provision of learning opportunities and work with you to shape your career and realise your full potential.
As part of our high-performing, collaborative team, you'll enjoy a competitive package, including a discretionary bonus scheme, private healthcare, pension plan, life assurance, TEDSgroup childcare benefits, a cycle-to-work scheme, tech scheme, and car scheme.
