Reference: 39a6b7a9 Job Purpose: I am a young man with ASD and I would like to employ a Personal Assistant to support me in gaining some independence skills as well as allowing me to access the community and activities to prevent me from becoming isolated. I require support and prompting around my personal hygiene tasks and reminders to complete those. You will need to ensure I am safe because I do not have understanding about risk or my own safety. I enjoy going out into parks and playgrounds, bowling and playing music for example. Location: Norwich, NR4 Details: • Tasks include outreach and limited travel, taking young person to public parks/playgrounds/bowling. Home based activities such as art, music, cooking, garden activities. • Support with accessing the community and activities. • Ensuring safety when out and about. • Support with independence and making choices. • Providing encouragement and practical assistance when out and about. Person specification Essential: • The candidate requires experience in dealing with SEN children/young adults, specifically ASD. • Requires empathetic/patient personality. • Car owner with the appropriate business insurance. Summary terms and conditions: • The rate of pay for this position is £11.68 per hour. • Hours and times of work: 8.5 hours per week, minimum of one morning or afternoon, up to two days, 09.00-15.00. • The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks. Post is subject to the following: • A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer. • Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer. • Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months. • This position requires the employee to complete free annual training: GDPR, Health and Safety, First Aid, Personal Care, Risk Assessment.
