The role of Activity Welfare Leader (AWL) is critical in delivering unforgettable experiences to thousands of children from around the world. As an AWL, you will have the most contact with our students on centre. You will report directly to the Team Leader but work with all staff on centre as part of our Ardmore team. Full training provided before you start. Make a difference with Ardmore. Your main duties will include: Plan and deliver a wide range of activities, ensuring they are structured, engaging, and enjoyable for all. Set up and pack down each activity session ensuring all equipment is returned and stored correctly. Report any damaged items to their line manager. Guide, entertain and supervise students on fun excursions. Complete pre-arrival and departure checks including damage surveys. Perform residential duties such as meal supervision, night-time patrols, additional duties as required by the centre. Essential Criteria: Ability to lead a variety of fun and engaging activities for a group of students. Ability to motivate and enjoy working with large groups of students. Previous experience working with children/teenagers. Ability to create and sustain working relationships with students. Eligible to work in the UK and 18 years old or over. Must be able to attend Activity Welfare Leader training days before employment commences. Desirable Criteria: Previous summer school experience. Hold a valid First Aid Certificate, Lifeguard or sports coaching qualification. Have experience of working with students aged 9 – 17 years old. Valid DBS and/or Overseas Police Checks (Ardmore can assist with this).
