Senior Clinical Fellow in Medical Education
Hours: 24 hours per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday). Contract: Up to 12-month Fixed Term Contract until 3rd August 2027.
Location: Based at the Medical Education Centre, Rotherham Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the delivery, development and evaluation of clinical skills and simulation‑based education across the Trust. The role is ideal for someone who wants to build expertise in teaching, simulation faculty work, assessment and digital innovation in medical education.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as simulation faculty for a wide range of simulation activities, including multiprofessional scenarios.
- Deliver clinical skills teaching to learners across multiple training levels.
- Prepare teaching resources, equipment and digital materials for skills and simulation courses.
- Support OSCE planning, question writing and assessment delivery.
- Participate in formative and summative assessments for final year medical students and FY1 trainees.
- Contribute to programmes supporting International Medical Graduates.
- Promote digital technology in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.
- Attend monthly Team Meetings and bimonthly Medical Education Committee meetings.
- Assist with the organisation, scheduling and coordination of simulation and clinical skills activities.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment outcomes and course evaluations.
- Contribute to audit, evaluation and reporting activities related to education delivery.

Qualifications and Experience
- Full registration and licence to practice with the GMC.
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Current ALS certificate.
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies or equivalent in line with GMC standards and Good Medical Practice.
- Previous NHS experience at Senior Clinical Fellow/Core Trainee/Specialty Registrar level at least 24 months.
- Evidence of audit and implementation of change following the audit.
- Relevant research published in peer‑reviewed journal (preferable).
- Mastery of basic clinical skills (history, examination, bloods, cannulation).
- Basic life support skills.
