Are you a resilient, compassionate, and emotionally intelligent professional looking for a deeply rewarding role? I am recruiting to fill aResidential Waking Night Support Workerrole to join a fully therapeutic childrens residential service inSelby, supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in care.
This specialist homes caters toup to 4x children, offering intensive, trauma-informed support for children aged512who are survivors ofsexual abuse and trauma. Every home works directly with an onsiteconsultant psychologistand her expert team to support recovery and long-term wellbeing.
Why This Role Is So Important
Children are usually referred straight frommental health settings or their home of abuse. The first weeks are about building trust, safety, and routine. Youll be there every step of the way as they take their first steps toward healing. It can be challenging, especially in the early days, with behaviours likeaggression, restraints, and mispers, but your support can change the trajectory of a childs life.

* Hours:4 on 4 off pattern
* Drivers essential
* Salary£26,500 to £29,925

What I'm Looking For
* Experienceworking in childrens residential care, ideally with complex needs
* Emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, andcommitted to trauma-informed practice
* Level 3 or abovein Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* A genuine belief in thepower of second chances

The Successful Applicant Must Have
* A proven track record of working with young people in a residential setting
* The ability to motivate and inspire young people to reach their goals
* Experience of planning and conducting social activities
* Knowledge of safeguarding and reporting procedures
* A compassionate and understanding attitude
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to build & maintain strong relationships with young people
* Ability to manage expenditure & financial systems
* Experience of working with children & young people who have suffered abuse
* The aptitude to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
* Resilience and a positive outlook
* A good level of IT literacy
* Organisational & problem-solving skills
