To view the Support Staff recruitment booklet, Click Here As a Learning Manager you must have the ability to work with students and have a real interest in the issues faced by the students. You will monitor and support all students in both year groups, both academically and behaviourally. You will work closely with the Inclusion Co-coordinator and the Leadership Team on improving student behaviour, attendance and outcomes. Day to day, you will work with students to help them to be the best they can be. The successful candidate must be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise work and ensure that strict deadlines are met. The ability to work on your own initiative and be able to lead by example are essential. You will be required to deal with students, parents and outside agencies in a professional, prompt and confidential manner. You will utilise the MIS system in order to track and intervene with serial internal truants or students who are consistently late for lessons. Your role will have emphasis on intervention and student tracking throughout the day using the Academy’s “Praising Stars” system. You will attend case conferences and other meetings regarding students in your year alongside preparing referrals and reports for those students identified as needing intervention. Responsibilities The Learning Manager strategically monitors all students in their assigned year group, utilizing MIS systems and Praising Stars data to identify concerns and action appropriate intervention strategies. Key duties include acting as the first point of contact for behaviour related incidents and supporting the Consequences process, including contacting parents regarding exclusions and supporting readmission meetings. A core function is inter-agency liaison, including chairing Children in Need and Team Around the Child meetings, undertaking referrals for families, and supporting the Education Welfare Officer with truancy sweeps. Qualifications The successful applicant must have experience of working in a school environment and demonstrable knowledge of issues affecting students and young people, including how to offer supportive assistance. Essential skills include the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences, verbally and in writing, and proficiency in using standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office. Crucially, candidates must be able to work well under pressure, manage competing deadlines, relate sympathetically to students, and recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
