I am proud to be working in partnership with a public sector organisation recruiting a Communications Officer to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to transform how the Communications team engages with residents, customers, and stakeholders across digital and traditional channels.
What You'll Do: Lead impactful internal and external campaigns, craft press releases and social media content, advise senior leaders, and manage media relations to keep communities connected to essential services.
* Design and deliver strategic communications campaigns
* Manage media relations and act as a spokesperson
* Create engaging content for web, social, print, and video
* Support internal communications and change programmes
* Collaborate with partners on joint campaigns
* Provide crisis communication support when needed
They are looking for communicators who are:
* Skilled in campaign planning and content creation
* Confident working with media, stakeholders, and senior leaders
* Digitally savvy with a flair for storytelling
* Organised, adaptable, and collaborative
Essential experience:
* Proven track record in communications, PR, journalism, or digital media
* Strong writing and editing skills across multiple platforms
* Understanding of communications evaluation and digital tools
Desirable:
* Local government or public sector experience
* Familiarity with AI tools and emerging digital platforms
Qualifications:
* Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, PR, or equivalent experience
