Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer to join an East Lancashire based machine builder. The successful engineer will focus on electrical controls, fault finding and getting machines up and running both in‑house and at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out electrical fault finding, working through test procedures and getting machines operational.
* Set up drives and motors, ensuring systems are running correctly and safely.
* Modify and interrogate PLC code, typically Siemens based systems.
* Support FAT and SAT activities and ensure machines meet performance criteria.
* Work on a wide range of bespoke machinery used across multiple sectors.
* Liaise with customers on site and provide technical support when required.
Travel Requirements
* Typically, 1–2 larger overseas jobs per year lasting 4–6 weeks.
* Smaller trips tend to be 7–10 days.
* Travel mainly to the USA and mainland Europe.
Qualifications
* Strong electrical controls and fault finding capability.
* Experience with drives, motors and machine setup.
* Ability to follow and execute test procedures.
* PLC experience, ideally Siemens TIA Portal.
* Comfortable working on bespoke or special purpose machinery.
