Salary: 5 Grade and 11-13 scale point range, £ £16.08 per hour, full time equivalent £28,142 - £31,022, actual annual salary £24,178 - £26,653

About Us:
St Matthias Academy is a special school that serves students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. We are dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive. This role is a key part of our commitment to ensuring our school sites are secure, clean and functional for our entire community. While this role is based at our main campus, you'll be responsible for all three of our academy sites, so a full driving license is essential.
The Role:
As a Site Assistant, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and smooth operation of our school buildings and grounds. This is a varied and demanding position that requires a hands-on approach and a positive attitude. Your duties will include everything from general maintenance and repairs to gardening and groundskeeping. You'll need to be flexible, resourceful and able to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain safety and cleanliness across all academy sites.
* Perform building repairs, gardening, and grounds work.
* Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families.
* Manage electronic records and workloads.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience in facilities maintenance.
* Full driving license.
* Strong practical skills (lifting, bending, working at heights).
* Experience working with SEMH students is a plus.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
