Job Description:

We’re hiring a Power Systems Design Engineer (P&C) to lead critical technical efforts across substation design projects ranging from 15 kV to 500 kV. You’ll join a lean, high-impact team where your expertise drives system integrity, safety, and client success. This fully remote position is ideal for a detail-driven engineer looking to step into a dynamic environment and work toward future licensure or leadership.

Focus:

One-line and three-line diagrams

Protection and control relay panel layouts

Cable and conduit routing, BOMs, and technical specifications

Engineer substation automation and SCADA integration systems

Relay coordination

Short circuit analysis

Load tabulations

Voltage drop and battery sizing calculations

Interface directly with cross-functional engineering teams and clients to ensure design accuracy, integration, and performance

Perform on-site project walkdowns as needed to validate scope and requirements

Support cost estimation for P&C upgrade projects, factoring in planning, construction, testing, and delivery phases

Assist junior engineers and provide technical QA, contributing to a culture of continuous learning

Skill Set:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

EIT required; PE license strongly preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience in high-voltage (15-500kV) substation protection and control design.

Proven expertise in relay logic, SCADA integration, and system protection.

Deep understanding of substation lifecycle from conceptual design to commissioning.

Strong communicator with a team-first mindset and a commitment to technical excellence.

Passion for mentoring and a knack for coaching less experienced engineers.
