They are now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a mechanical background, ideally from the HGV, PCV, or similar transport sectors. The Role As Engineering Manager, you will oversee engineering operations across multiple depots, ensuring vehicle reliability, compliance, and high standards of safety. A company car is provided for travel between sites. Youll manage a team of engineers and technicians, take ownership of workshop performance, and be accountable for maintaining strong MOT first-time pass rates and full compliance with DVSA standards. Key Responsibilities Include: Leading and coordinating maintenance and repair work across several depot sites Managing daily workshop operations, including team leadership and performance oversight Ensuring vehicle inspections, servicing, and compliance tasks are carried out efficiently Monitoring and driving strong MOT pass rates across the fleet Developing preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime Providing technical support and hands-on mechanical assistance where needed Maintaining accurate service and compliance records Supporting recruitment, training, and development of engineering staff Managing stock, parts procurement, and supplier relationships Liaising with operations to ensure vehicle availability aligns with scheduling needs What We're Looking For: Strong mechanical background (buses, coaches, HGV or similar) Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance Previous experience in a supervisory or engineering management role Solid understanding of DVSA compliance and workshop best practices A track record of achieving or improving MOT first-time pass rates Full UK driving licence (PCV licence beneficial but not essential) Willingness to travel between sites regularly using the company vehicle Whats on Offer: Full-time, permanent position within a growing family business Monday to Friday schedule (7:00 AM 5:00 PM) Competitive salary based on experience Company car for multi-site responsibilities Excellent long-term career prospects Supportive working environment with a close-knit team culture ADZN1_UKTJ
