About the Role
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children who may present with behaviours that challenge, helping them develop positive coping strategies and improve their social, emotional, and communication skills. You will support children and young people in their family homes, and in their local community, helping them to access and enjoy local services such as parks or leisure centres. The role involves alternate weekend working.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide individualised support to children and young people with behaviours that challenge.
* Develop and implement positive coping strategies and communication skills.
* Facilitate access to local community services (parks, leisure centres, etc.).
* Collaborate with team members to deliver the highest standard of care.
* Contribute to continuous development and pursue the Care Skills award certification.
About You
* Enthusiastic and highly motivated with experience working with disabled children.
* Able to identify and respond to behaviours that communicate needs, wishes and feelings.
* Committed to continuous development and to completing a Care Skills award certification.
* Team player who can work with multidisciplinary staff.
