Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Reports to: CEO
Leads: IT Support Team (2), Development Team (3), Team Leader, and Product Manager (in hiring)
Scope: Two businesses, multiple client bases (including government), remote & office staff
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Leadership
* Define and own the technology strategy across support and development.
* Align systems and platforms with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
* Drive innovation, automation, and cloud adoption at every layer of the tech stack.
2. Team Management & Development
* Lead and mentor IT support and software development teams.
* Build team capabilities, define KPIs, and foster a high-performance culture.
* Collaborate closely with the Product Manager to ensure delivery excellence.
3. IT Operations & MSP Transition
* Oversee IT operations, including service desk, infrastructure, onboarding/offboarding, and systems management.
* Drive automation and implement ITSM/RMM best practices.
* Develop and scale the organisation’s MSP capabilities with SLAs, ticketing, and monitoring.
4. Software Engineering & AI/Automation
* Lead development of enterprise and government-facing software, using Python, JavaScript, and n8n for automation.
* Ensure best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, code quality, and delivery timelines.
* Architect scalable solutions for current and future government contracts.
5. Accreditation & Cloud Ecosystem Growth
* Lead all accreditation projects:
o ISO 27001 / ISO 9001 / ISO 20000
o Cyber Essentials, GDPR, NCSC
* Own partnership pathways with AWS, Microsoft, and Google — ensuring technical readiness and certification alignment.
* Guide the business through the AWS/Microsoft Marketplace onboarding processes.
Ideal Profile
* Experience: 8+ years in IT/Tech roles, 3+ years in leadership. Experience in B2B, SaaS, or MSP models preferred.
* Stack Knowledge: Hands-on familiarity with Python, JavaScript, n8n, and DevOps pipelines.
* Certifications: Desirable — AWS/Azure/GCP certs, ISO Lead Implementer, ITIL.
* Soft Skills: Strong communicator, proactive leader, commercially aware, capable of translating tech to business.
First 6-Month Priorities
1. Technology Audit: Evaluate current IT and dev team workflows, gaps, and tools.
2. Automation Rollout: Deploy onboarding/offboarding automation across both businesses.
3. Team Structure: Set up team charters, roles, and OKRs for both IT and Dev teams.
4. ISO & Partner Path: Initiate accreditation paths and technical alignment with AWS/Microsoft/Google.
5. MSP Systems: Select and implement a fit-for-purpose RMM + PSA tool.

We’re now seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology department, optimise internal IT operations, and drive the continued development of innovative, scalable software products.
The Role
The CTO will oversee both our IT Support and Software Development teams, ensuring operational excellence, secure and scalable infrastructure, and consistent delivery of high-quality solutions. You’ll also lead initiatives to gain ISO accreditations and build partnerships with major cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft, Google).
This role requires a strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves to support and grow the team, embed automation, and build robust, scalable processes across both technical divisions.
