Job Description
London (Hybrid) | Circa £50,000 depending on experience + benefits
The role
We’re looking for a Business Systems & Data Analyst to help us strengthen the systems and data that run the studio. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Operations and Technology. You’ll help us understand how our core systems connect, improve how data flows between them, and strengthen how we track the health of the studio.
Working closely with the Head of Finance, COO and Resourcing Lead, you’ll help improve visibility of key metrics like revenue, margin, utilisation, project performance and working capital. You’ll also help shape how reporting and dashboards work across the studio so teams and leaders can clearly see what’s happening and act on it.
We’re a lean team, which means this role comes with real ownership. You’ll help shape how our systems evolve, take leadership of improving how the studio uses data, and make it easier for leaders and teams to see what’s happening and act on it.
The goal is clearer insight, stronger systems, and faster, better decisions.
What Success Looks Like
* Our data is cleaner, more consistent and easier to trust
* Key commercial and operational metrics are clear and easy to understand
* Reporting becomes simpler, faster and less manual
* Leadership has a clear and accurate picture of what is happening in the business and can respond quickly
* Teams can access useful data quickly and use it to make better decisions
What You’ll Do
Improve how our systems work together
* Work across our core systems (CRM, project MIS, finance system and HRIS), improving how they connect and ensuring data flows cleanly across the studio
* Identify gaps, friction or duplication and design practical improvements
* Support the evolution of our systems architecture as the studio grows
* Act as the point of contact for Operations on systems questions and improvements
Strengthen reporting and data quality
* Improve how we produce management reporting across the studio
* Reduce manual work by improving automation and data flows
* Build and maintain dashboards tracking key commercial and operational metrics
Help define and standardise how metrics are calculated and reported
* Ensure the data used in forecasting, planning and reporting is reliable
* Make numbers easier to understand so teams can confidently make data-informed decisions.
Turn data into insight
* Support the Head of Finance with performance analysis and investigation
* Improve visibility of utilisation, project performance, and overall financial health
* Identify trends and insights within our commercial data that help leaders take action
* Explore how AI and modern data tools can help automate reporting, surface insight faster and reduce manual work
What a Typical Day Might Look Like
No two days are exactly the same, but your work might include:
* Reviewing utilisation and project performance data to identify unusual trends or gaps
* Working with the Finance team to improve how revenue and margin are tracked across projects
* Investigating inconsistencies between systems (e.g. between the CRM and project MIS) and improving how data flows between them
* Building or refining dashboards that help leadership quickly understand studio and project performance
* Meeting with the Resourcing Lead to improve visibility of team capacity and utilisation
* Supporting the COO with data and analysis for planning or strategy discussions
* Exploring ways to automate manual reporting and test new tools that make data easier to analyse and share
* Helping teams better understand the numbers behind their projects and accounts
About You
You enjoy understanding how organisations work and improving the systems and data that support them.
You’re comfortable working with both data and people. You can dig into detail when needed, but you’re equally comfortable explaining what matters both simply and clearly to others.
You Likely Have
* 3–5 years experience in a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst or Commercial Analyst role
* A good understanding of financial and operational metrics such as revenue, margin, utilisation or cash flow
* Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and experience building dashboards or working with BI tools/SQL
* Experience working across multiple business systems and understanding how they connect
* A curious mindset and a natural instinct to improve how things work
* Confidence working with senior stakeholders and explaining data clearly
* Comfortable exploring new tools, including AI, to improve how data is analysed, interpreted and shared
You don’t need to be a developer or an accountant, but you should be comfortable working with systems, data and commercial information.
