About the Role
In this role youll be responsible for conducting MOT tests and general mechanical repair work across a broad range of vehicles. Youll carry out inspections in line with DVSA standards, diagnose faults, repair and service vehicles from brakes and steering to diagnostics and full servicing. As part of the day‐to‐day youll work within a busy yet supportive workshop, ensuring each job is completed to an excellent standard and customers leave trusting the work done.

Monday to Friday: 08:30 17:30
Key Duties
1. Carry out MOT inspections in accordance with DVSA regulations and internal workshop standards.
2. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate tools, testing equipment and diagnostic software.
3. Perform servicing, repairs and maintenance work across various vehicle systems (brakes, steering, suspension, exhausts, air-conditioning, etc).
4. Issue clear reports for customers and liaise with service advisors regarding any additional work required.
5. Maintain the workshop environment: ensure tools, equipment, and documentation are up to date and in good order.
6. Work efficiently to meet job schedules while upholding strong standards of workmanship and customer care.
7. Contribute to continuous improvement of workshop processes and customer satisfaction.
Key Requirements
8. Proven experience as an MOT Tester / Mechanic in a fast-paced garage or service centre.
9. Valid MOT Tester licence (or equivalent accreditation) and strong knowledge of DVSA standards class 4 and 7.
10. Excellent diagnostic ability, mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
11. Confident working across different vehicle makes and systems.
12. A strong communicator: able to explain technical issues clearly to colleagues and customers.
13. Reliable, organised and committed to delivering high quality results while managing workload.
