We are now seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Projects Division based in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, proactive engineer to be part of a dynamic and well‑established organisation.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will deliver mechanical maintenance, refurbishment and new installation works across a variety of client sites, including Scottish Water. You will also undertake testing and pre‑commissioning activities and ensure all work aligns with current regulations and WIMES specifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain, repair and install mechanical equipment including pumps, pipework, screens, valves, gratings, handrailing and related components
2. Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation technicians, commissioning engineers and client operations teams
3. Carry out efficient fault‑finding and problem resolution across a range of mechanical equipment such as sewage pumps, valves, blowers, screens and filtration systems
4. Participate actively in Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments and all relevant Health & Safety processes
5. Interpret RAMS and prepare daily TSRA documentation
6. Provide accurate information and on‑site support to internal teams and interdepartmental functions
7. Travel to and work across various client sites as required
8. Demonstrate strong communication skills with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
9. 2–3 years’ experience in a similar engineering role
10. Strong technical capability and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
11. Solid understanding of pumps and mechanical components
12. Proven experience using engineering measuring equipment
13. A commitment to high standards of work and continuous improvement
