We're currently seeking multiple Sheltered Housing Officers to join our client's Neighbourhood Services team in West London. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact, supporting older and vulnerable residents to maintain their independence and enjoy a safe, well-managed living environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver enhanced tenancy and estate management services within sheltered housing schemes.
* Support residents to maintain their tenancies and access housing, support, and welfare services.
* Carry out regular scheme inspections, ensuring communal areas are safe, secure, and well maintained.
* Coordinate minor repairs, maintenance, and handy person services for residents where needed.
* Facilitate social and community activities within the scheme to promote wellbeing and inclusion.
* Manage lettings and tenancy changes, including sign-ups, successions, and viewings.
* Proactively monitor rent accounts, address arrears, and signpost residents to financial support.
* Respond to tenancy breaches, safeguarding concerns, and health & safety issues in line with policy.
* Build effective working relationships with residents, colleagues, and partner organisations.
Key Requirements
* Previous experience in housing management, supported or sheltered housing.
* Strong understanding of tenancy management, safeguarding, and resident wellbeing.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
* Confident using IT systems to record and manage casework.
* Compassionate, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
* A housing qualification (or working towards one) is desirable but not essential.
Contract length: 3-6 months (with expectation of an ongoing extension)
Rate of Pay: £22-£26 per hour (Negotiable DOE).
Hours: Full time, 37 hours each week.
