About the FirmA well-established and respected large law firm based in Belfast is seeking a Compliance Executive to join its Risk and Compliance team. The firm is known for delivering high-quality legal services and maintaining strong regulatory and ethical standards across all areas of practice.The RoleThis is a key operational role supporting the Head of Risk and Compliance in delivering the firm's AML, financial crime, onboarding, and quality assurance will play a central role in ensuring compliance processes run efficiently, risks are identified and escalated appropriately, and a high standard of service is provided to fee earners and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Onboarding & Matter ManagementManage new client onboarding and reactivation requests in line with AML and risk policiesPrepare and review engagement letters and onboarding documentationLiaise directly with clients and fee earners to obtain KYC/CDD documentationTrack onboarding progress and ensure timely completionAML & Due DiligenceConduct CDD, EDD, and ongoing KYC refresh reviewsPerform sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screeningMonitor high-risk clients and escalate concernsAssist with source of funds and wealth analysisRisk & ComplianceIdentify and escalate compliance issues and risksSupport internal investigations and remediation activitiesAssist with audit responses and quality assurance initiativesFile Management & Quality AssuranceOversee file opening, closing, archiving, and destruction processesConduct file reviews and quality assurance checksSupport regulatory frameworks such as Excel and ISOAdvisory SupportProvide guidance to fee earners on compliance and onboarding mattersAct as a point of contact for AML and file management queriesAssist with training and awareness initiativesSystems & Process ImprovementSupport the operation and enhancement of compliance systems (e.g. onboarding platforms)Maintain accurate compliance records and reporting dataContribute to process improvement initiativesAbout YouEssential RequirementsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent organisational and time management skillsConfident communicator with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.Strong IT and systems skillsAbility to follow procedures and escalate issues appropriatelyDesirable ExperienceExperience in a compliance, AML, onboarding, or regulated environmentBackground in a law firm or professional services settingKnowledge of KYC/CDD processes and regulatory requirementsExperience with file management, audits, or quality assurance frameworksFamiliarity with compliance or onboarding systemsWhy Apply?Opportunity to join a large, reputable Belfast law firmExposure to a broad range of compliance, AML, and regulatory workSupportive team environment with opportunities for developmentKey role with visibility across the firmAdditional InformationThis is a busy and varied role where flexibility may be required to meet deadlines and support business-critical compliance activities.If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
