The Joseph Trust is looking for a Teaching Assistant in the York area
Who we are:
We are a small Christian charity that supports emotionally and behaviourally challenging young students, typically aged 8-14. Based at Rossmoor Grange. We provide term-time activities for students from approximately fifteen Primary and Secondary Schools in York and the surrounding areas. Our team consists of four staff members and six volunteers who offer intensive support to small groups of 6-10 young people on a daily basis.
Facilities:
Our facilities include a variety of animals such as cats, guinea pigs, ducks, hens, and pygmy goats, as well as a poly-tunnel for growing plants and vegetables. Additionally, we have access to nearby woods and the Pocklington canal, where we conduct activities including orienteering, canoeing, and wildlife exploration. We have a bike workshop where students can practice fixing pedal bikes and ride them around the farm.
What we need:
We are currently seeking a passionate individual to join our team as a Supervisor. The successful candidate will support activities with small groups of students, support fellow team members in supervising the young people, and develop specific activities to enhance our existing program.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for working in an outdoor environment with small groups of children and young people, aiding them in realising their potential. Experience in managing children or young people displaying challenging behaviours, along with practical skills in teaching or leading activities appropriate for this age group is highly desirable.
