1. £29.40 per hour
2. 37 hours per week
3. 6 months pending review
4. Sullatober, Carrickfergus but will be required to travel across the borough
What you'll be doing in this role:
5. Work with the Head of Service to deliver or commission cost effective, efficient, high quality, responsive, robust and integrated services in line with Council’s responsibilities and corporate priorities for the residents of Mid and East Antrim.
6. Responsible for the effective delivery of Operational and Waste Services Contracts and Service Level Agreements to ensure Council is fulfilling its obligations under the Waste Management Plan.
7. Specific operational responsibility for all 3 Waste Depots, to include management of street cleansing, waste collection, and public facilities, including operational Staff.
8. Liaise with staff to ensure timely and appropriate waste communications across the Borough.
9. Management and coordination of Fleet Services as a competent person on the Councils Goods Vehicles Operators and Bus Operators Licenses, including management of vehicles, plant and machinery.
10. Responsible for the development and delivery of Route Optimisation and Vehicle Telematics to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
11. Responsible for fleet replacement programme and procurement of Fleet Vehicles, plant and machinery for Council wide service delivery.
What you'll need for this role:
12. Applicants must be qualified to a minimum of degree or post graduate qualification
13. Must be a full member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management or obtain full membership within 18 months of appointment
14. Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have three years’ (five years’ if Criterion 1 is not met) experience:
in a Waste or Environmental Management role
15. Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have three years’ (five years’ if Criterion 1 is not met) experience:
in managing a significant budget
16. Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have three years’ (five years’ if Criterion 1 is not met) experience:
in effectively managing a large and diverse workforce
17. A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post
