Senior Deputy Headteacher – Curriculum, Teaching and Learning
Are you an ambitious and experienced Senior Leader ready to make a real difference for some of the most vulnerable children in Essex?
We are delighted to be seeking a passionate, committed, and innovative Senior Deputy Headteacher to join our team at Children's Support Service.
About the role:
You will:
* Form an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team with key responsibility for teaching, learning, curriculum and assessment, championing high-quality practice and pedagogy.
* Support staff in meeting the needs of all our students with your expert knowledge of inclusion.
* Have strategic oversight of the curriculum and timetable across primary and secondary phases.
* Oversight of teaching and learning, assessment and reporting and exams policies and implementation across primary and secondary phases.
* Leadership of internal monitoring and evaluation schedule including lesson observations and work scrutiny.
* Leadership of CPD and staff induction.
* Line management of Heads of Department, supporting and challenging them to deliver excellence.
* Provide strategic leadership on PPG strategy and ensure its impact on every eligible child together with the Deputy Headteachers.
* Provide strategic leadership on the commissioning of alternative education together with the Deputy Headteachers.
* Report on performance, curriculum and teaching and learning to Governors, SLT, Curriculum Leaders and other stakeholders.
* Championing high expectations of conduct and behaviour across the Service.
* The professional responsibilities and duties of the Deputy Headteacher are set out in detail in the School Teachers Pay and Conditions documents, which can vary from time to time, and any or all of those duties may be required of the postholder.
* Deputising for the Head of Service together with the Senior Deputy Headteacher (Behaviour, Outreach, Reintegration and Admissions).
Your expertise in a mainstream setting would be welcome, along with a passion for teaching and learning. This will help shape the future of our Service. Knowledge of SIMS, timetabling, and curriculum development would be advantageous.
