Adoption@Heart is a Regional Adoption Agency working on behalf of Wolverhampton, Walsall, and Dudley Councils and Sandwell Children’s Trust. We are currently recruiting to a Family Support Worker in the Adoption Support Team. The role i s responsible for providing support to birth parents whose children have been adopted or have a plan of adoption, and other birth relatives affected by this. You will be required to support birth parents and relatives to understand the adoption process and to provide information for their children’s Life Story Books and Later Life Letters. You will assist service users with their Keep in Touch arrangements and provide independent support to birth parents and relatives around managing the emotional impact of adoption. You will also be involved in the development and provision of support groups for birth parents. You will need to be able to travel across the region as part of this role. You will need to be computer literate, organised, able to manage competing priorities and have excellent customer service skills.
