We’re looking for a hard-working, passionate Optometrist ready to provide our customers with the best eyecare in the business. At Specsavers Bideford, you’ll join a community focused team full of people from all walks of life and all levels of experience. So, as long as you’re a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, whoever you are, you can make a difference here.
Our store
Based in Bideford, our store boasts 4 test tooms with all the latest equipment, utilized by 18 members of staff!
The area
This historic harbour town is packed with independent shops, local produce, and the picturesque quay, which draws visitors during every season.
Bideford was once Britain’s third largest port and while it still has maritime connections, these days, it is more widely known as being a thriving shopping centre with pubs, music and restaurants to satisfy every palate. We have the best beaches in North Devon including Croyde Bay and Westward Ho!.
The M5 motorway is just over an hour away giving convenient access to all major road networks.North Devon is serviced by a reliable bus network that connects many of the towns, villages,and train stations.

We do need you to have a few skills to get started in this role.Firstly, you’ll need to be registered as a member of the General Optical Council (keeping this up to date). You’ll also need to be confident and passionate about providing the best customer service and work well as part of a team.
