Salary: £80-£90k + Bonus
Location | Windsor, Berkshire. Permanent, Full Time Position. Office based (3-4 days per week).
Ref: KE13226
The Opportunity:
A dynamic, fast-scaling education business, backed by significant Private Equity investment, is seeking a commercially astute and operationally minded Head of Finance to lead finance at their flagship site in Windsor.
Reporting directly to an established Finance Director, this is a high-impact role requiring full ownership of the site's finance function, with the remit to professionalise financial reporting, controls, processes, and FP&A. The successful candidate will not only lead all site-based finance activity but also play a pivotal role in key operational projects and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
The Role:
The Head of Finance will be a central figure in driving commercial insight and business performance, partnering with education leaders, operations teams, estates, catering, HR, IT, and beyond. This is a rare opportunity for a qualified finance professional to influence and shape the future of a high-growth education platform from the inside out.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own the end-to-end finance function for the flagship site.
* Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting aligned to PE standards.
* Develop and embed financial controls, processes, and FP&A frameworks.
* Act as a strategic partner to site leadership, providing financial insight and commercial challenge.
* Collaborate with non-financial stakeholders across operations, estates, education, HR, and IT.
* Support and drive site-wide projects, including capex and operational improvements.
* Elevate financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting capabilities.
* Play a lead role in ensuring financial readiness for further scale and investment scrutiny.
The Requirements:
* Be a fully qualified finance professional (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
* Thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, Private Equity-backed environments.
* Bring experience from a school, construction project, or broader project-led setting (highly advantageous).
* Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and a hands-on, delivery-focused mindset.
* Have experience partnering with a wide variety of stakeholders, both financial and operational.
* Be highly organised, resilient, and comfortable operating with pace and ambiguity.
* Be confident in challenging the status quo and driving continuous improvement.
This is a career-defining opportunity for a finance leader who wants to build, influence, and make a meaningful impact across education, operations, and commercial performance.
