Scope of Role:
Working across operations, supply chain, and design engineering to provide manufacturing engineering expertise in supporting existing and new products, defining new and supporting existing processes. You will assist in implementing strategic Lean initiatives throughout the company and lead some Continuous Improvement projects.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with manufacturing cell leaders, lean coordinators, and design engineering to improve process efficiencies.
2. Create and maintain routings in the MRP system.
3. Implement lean manufacturing methods (e.g., 1-piece flow lines, visual factory) to reduce throughput times, rework, scrap, and work-in-progress.
4. Apply basic improvement tools such as 5S, 7 Wastes, Visual Management, and Standardized Work to optimize assembly lines with single-piece flow philosophies.
5. Support layout changes, involving facilities and maintenance teams.
6. Assist manufacturing cells in recording and analyzing production data to identify main issues.
7. Establish product cycle times and monitor actual performance to reduce manufacturing labor content.
8. Lead improvement projects and CAPEX for new process and product introductions.
9. Work with engineering on product documentation modifications and parts obsolescence.
10. Provide daily manufacturing engineering support to ensure customer schedule adherence.
11. Suggest and support engineering changes to define cost-effective manufacturing processes for new product introductions.
12. Develop process FMEA and oversee its implementation.
13. Manage new product launches and legacy product manufacturing throughout the product lifecycle.
Mentor cell leaders in manufacturing assembly and testing improvements.
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
* Proven experience in a similar role, including NPI and Standard Work implementation.
* Successful track record of implementing Lean in an industrial environment.
* Experience with process maps, PFMEAs, and control plans.
* Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving techniques.
* Technical and problem-solving experience in electro-mechanical manufacturing.
* Excellent time management and project planning skills.
* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
* Experience in aerospace, automotive, or related industries.
* Methodical, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
* Team player with strong communication skills in English.
* Self-motivated with leadership qualities and the ability to work independently.
* Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and process control techniques.
