Senior Financial Accountant - Publishing Leading Publishing House are looking for a qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA Financial Accountant with 2 years PQE to own the financial accounting areas and ensure balance sheet integrity, tax compliance and accounting accuracy. Key responsibilities: Lead inventory and stock accounting including reconciliations and provisions Support group reporting, FPM reconciliations and hard‑close processes Prepare UK and overseas tax analysis and returns including CT, VAT and withholding taxes Prepare statutory accounts, audit packs and year‑end accounting schedules Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and complex journals Lead VAT/GST preparation and review process Prepare and review payroll journals and overseas tax filings Provide day‑to‑day guidance, coaching and support to junior finance team members Own technical accounting judgements and supporting documentation Contribute to internal controls development and periodic reviews Identify efficiency opportunities across month‑end, reporting and reconciliation processes Develop and maintain finance SOPs and control documentation Draft accounting papers or memos to document positions taken Lead or contribute to finance projects such as system upgrades, automation initiatives or policy changes Support finance leadership with one‑off analysis, modelling or insight to inform business decisions.
