Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing and construction, demonstrating the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role requires physical stamina and the capability to perform heavy lifting while adhering to safety standards. As a Roofer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings.
Duties
* Install roofing systems using a variety of materials such as slate, metal, or tiles.
* Repair and replace damaged roofing materials to ensure the integrity of the roof.
* Interpret schematics and blueprints to determine project specifications.
* Fabricate components as needed for roofing projects.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently in all tasks.
* Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople on site to ensure quality workmanship.
* Perform masonry work as required for roof installations or repairs.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools are stored properly after use.
* Follow safety protocols at all times to minimise risks on site.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Roofer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with roofing work.
* Familiarity with various roofing materials and installation techniques.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to roofing tasks.
* Basic knowledge of masonry work is advantageous.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
