Synergem Recruitment is working exclusively with a growing business based in Leeds to recruit a Credit Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about maintaining strong customer relationships while protecting cash flow. The Role: You’ll take ownership of the credit control function, ensuring payments are collected to agreed terms and aged debt is minimised. You’ll also play a key role in improving internal processes and supporting the wider accounts team when needed. Key Responsibilities: * Proactively chase outstanding payments and manage the full debt recovery process * Work closely with Operational Managers to keep them informed of aged debt and risk * Allocate incoming cash and maintain accurate sales ledger records * Set up and manage new customer accounts * Resolve invoice queries with professionalism and a customer-first approach * Assist with general accounts support during peak times or staff absence * Identify opportunities for process improvement in credit control practices What We’re Looking For: * Proven experience in a credit control or sales ledger role * Strong communication and negotiation skills * Organised and detail-oriented with a proactive mindset * Able to work independently and manage own workload * Familiarity with accounting systems (Sage, Xero or similar) is advantageous What’s on Offer: * Competitive salary (up to £28,000 depending on experience) * Supportive working environment with direct access to senior leadership * Office-based role in a collaborative team * Opportunity to make a real impact within a growing business If you’re an experienced Credit Controller looking for your next challenge in Leeds — we want to hear from you!
