We’re looking for an Assistant Curator (Maternity Cover) to join our Story Development team and help research, develop and share the Museum’s collections and stories.
Caring for around 3 million objects, our collections tell the social, industrial and agricultural history of the North East. This role plays a key part in caring for our collections, and in broadening and deepening the stories we tell, ensuring they are inclusive, representative and shaped by the communities we serve.

* Collaborative, well organised, able to work to deadlines and confident with project coordination
* Passionate about inclusive storytelling, motivated to broaden representation and deepen understanding of the North East’s stories
* Have experience or knowledge of museum practices, processes and the management of museum collections
This is a fixedterm maternity cover role, with some flexibility required, including occasional weekends or evenings.
