B7 Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist - Part time

In this role you will lead and deliver a Young Onset Dementia Service in Surrey with support from a wider MDT who work in Surrey. You will deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based occupational therapy assessment and interventions for people with suspected neurodegenerative disorders and those with confirmed young onset dementia. You will work autonomously, manage a complex caseload, lead and network to create links with local community services, and contribute to service development, research, quality improvements and transformation initiatives.
Part‑time hours: Tuesday to Thursday (negotiable). The role requires flexible working across East Surrey with a focus on day‑to‑day delivery in that area. Candidates must possess a valid driving licence and have unrestricted use of a car or motorcycle for work at all times, including community based work.
Main duties of the job
* Undertake evidence‑based projects, including recommendations for change in practice and lead where appropriate in service evaluation/research.
* Promote the role of Occupational Therapy within the wider Multi‑Disciplinary Team.
* Engage in the development, training and professional supervision of staff within the specialty.
* Contribute to the work of the professional OT leadership team and YOD team and represent the profession within and beyond the trust as appropriate.
* Network with local community groups in East Surrey to develop the YOD service and identify support services for service users.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways.
* Ensure that the needs of people with protected characteristics are addressed within local services and future developments.
* Collate, analyse and report on the effectiveness of the service using appropriate outcome measures.
Qualifications
* Occupational Therapy profession qualification
* Additional academic or clinical qualification relevant to area of work
* Leadership training or relevant leadership experience
* Clinical supervision training
Experience
* Extensive and relevant post‑qualification experience with people who have complex needs
* Experience of leading clinical practice service development or project work
* Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches
* Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models
* Experience of providing supervision
* Experience of supporting students on placement

Salary
£51,657 to £58,785 a year Incl. 5% Fringe HCAS, pa, pro rata.
