About the Post
This post will provide sub‑specialty experience in Interstitial Lung Disease and would be suited to a Respiratory trainee as out‑of‑programme experience during specialist training or as post‑CCT experience. The post is based in the Oxford Centre for Respiratory Medicine, at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Oxford Interstitial Lung Disease Service is a designated regional specialist centre and an anti‑fibrotic prescribing centre, delivering comprehensive care to the Oxfordshire and Thames Valley region.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent support to the Interstitial Lung Disease service under the supervision of the ILD consultants.
* Participate in outpatient care and diagnostics for patients with Interstitial Lung Disease.
* Contribute to the regional ILD service administration, including clinical documentation and coordination.
* Engage in departmental education meetings, teaching, and support research projects relevant to interstitial lung disease.
* Attend approximately 30 days per annum on the respiratory ward rota at the JR site and provide night care for about 10 nights per year.
Required Qualifications
* MRCP or equivalent
* Participating in or completed Respiratory registrar‑level training position
* Knowledge of Respiratory Medicine and management of all common medical emergencies
Desirable Criteria
* Interstitial Lung Disease experience
* Knowledge of Interstitial Lung Disease management
* Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to work within a multidisciplinary team
* Desire to participate in research within the OCRM
* Proven ability to communicate in written form (publications, reports, etc.)
* Track record of ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
* MD or PhD and full GMC Registration, with appropriate UK professional registration
