Job Summary:
GKN is engaged in major development programs aimed at enabling zero emission flight with new aircraft technologies. We aim to enable electrification of aircraft powered by Liquid Hydrogen, Fuel cells, and Cryogenically cooled networks and motors. We have built significant capability with an international team of over 70 engineers working on Liquid Hydrogen propulsion systems. We are seeking a Senior Motor Control Engineer/Specialist to develop electrical propulsion systems for future aircraft, involved in the full development cycle of high-power, high-performance electrical drives.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with research partners to identify and address technical challenges
* Translate research into practical design rules and tools
* Develop analysis and simulation capabilities to scale solutions
* Pursue innovation and IP development opportunities
* Work with system architects and engineers to develop system requirements
* Derive technical requirements, plan, and execute verification and validation
* Define and deliver motor control software for safety-critical applications
* Analyze test data and contribute to reports
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in system-level simulation of motor drives
* Experience in machine design and control optimization
* Knowledge of motor control techniques for various motor types
* Practical experience in motor testing
* Hands-on experience with rapid control prototyping tools
* Knowledge of communication interfaces like CAN, SPI
* Degree in electrical engineering or related field
* Coding skills for Arm-processor and FPGA are desirable
