A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Pastry Chef De Partie AT OUR HOTEL
What you'll be doing...
* Pastry Preparation & Service
* Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and plated desserts in line with hotel standards
* Assist with daily mise en place and service for restaurant, banqueting, and event operations
* Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all pastry offerings
* Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines
* Quality & Standards
* Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation at all times
* Ensure ingredients are fresh, correctly stored, and rotated
* Assist with menu development, seasonal dishes, and special event menus
* Food Safety & Hygiene
* Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
* Follow HACCP procedures and allergen controls
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe pastry section
* Ensure correct labelling, storage, and stock rotation
* Teamwork & Communication
* Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and food & beverage teams
* Support and guide junior kitchen team members when required
* Communicate effectively to ensure smooth and efficient service
* Stock & Cost Control
* Assist with stock checks, ordering, and waste reduction
* Use ingredients and equipment efficiently to support cost control
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
* A passion for culinary excellence and a drive to create memorable dining experiences.
* Proven experience in a busy kitchen, ideally in a Pastry Chef de Partie role or similar.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle high-paced service with ease.
* Creativity and a keen eye for detail when it comes to plating and presentation.
* Team spirit, supporting the brigade to keep standards high and service smooth.
* Dedication to cleanliness, food safety, and upholding health regulations.
