We are looking for a talented In Year Reporting and Control Senior Officer to join our dynamic finance team. Job description As a In Year Reporting and Control Senior Officer within the CDIO Finance your expertise will be invaluable in financial monitoring, reporting and analysis on the current financial year and supporting the month end process, including identifying reasons for movements and variances. You will ensure rigorous interrogation and challenge of financial data, conducting detailed analyses to provide important insights including trends, variances, issues, risks and opportunities. Additionally, you will prepare comprehensive reports and templates for data collation and submission, supporting cost reduction initiatives and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with central finance colleagues and Finance Business Partners. This multidimensional role demands excellent analytical skills, the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights, and a strategic approach to navigate a culture of change. Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential, enabling you to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. Person specification Responsible for key month end control assurance for forecast and budgets, including liaison with Finance Management teams and HMRC Finance.
Financial reporting packs production in Power BI, including continuous improvements and automation.
Recharges process lead, including continuous improvement, assurance and automation.
Conduct detailed analyses and interrogation of financial data to assure and verify standard financial reporting packs.
Prepare comprehensive reports and templates for data collation and submission.
Support tracking of efficiencies, working collaboratively with and challenging Management Accountants and Finance Business Partners.
Maintain strong collaborative relationships with central finance colleagues and Finance Business Partners.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Contribute to process improvements within the finance function.
Present financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
Support in-month and year-end processes and financial planning activities.
Essential Criteria
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong financial modelling and forecasting abilities, preferably using Power BI and Power Query.
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Adaptability to change and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
Accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent) or actively pursuing one (minimum part qualified).
