Job Description
The Cloud and Security Lab are responsible for support of the Infrastructure Applications aligning to Active Directory the core Microsoft technology components that underpin the Lloyds Banking Group IT infrastructure, primarily production Active Directory (Global) and Entra ID. This includes support and change delivery capabilities for production environments, and equivalent support for the development and route-to-live Domain environment. This is a Senior role blending deep domain and technical expertise with coaching and developing people in a “player-coach” model, including advocacy for team wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead support, maintenance activities and change activity across a team of colleagues responsible for Critical Business infrastructure related to Active Directory Domain Services (AD-DS), including knowledge of AD structure, Group Policy, DNS/WINS, and authentication methods.
* Support Tools: KMS and Active Directory tools (Quest Change Auditor, One Identity Active Roles).
* Collaborate with Engineering Lead to prioritise tasks, break down work, set expectations, and ensure timely delivery.
* Line Management of 7-10 Engineers within the Cloud & Security Lab; conduct regular 1-1s and quarterly check-ins, driving performance through the Bank’s Performance Management processes.
What You’ll Need
* Ability to task-manage across a team of around 10 colleagues, prioritising work and maintaining high standards.
* Experience in line managing 7-10 engineers, driving high performance within a PM framework.
* Experience coordinating engineering actions for incident responses with the Cloud & Security Service Lead.
* Specialist understanding of Active Directory / Domain Controllers and knowledge of Azure Active Directory Hybrid Identity.
* Experience working in a team environment and ability to self-manage pieces of work.
* Good communication skills to explain complex technical issues to varied audiences.
* Passion for customer experience and outcomes driven by technology.
* Willingness to participate in a 24x7 support rota and perform out-of-hours changes; flexible working patterns may be considered.
Experience That Would Be Useful
* Understanding of Security & Compliance requirements in regulated environments.
* Experience with Architecture Design notes and Governance.
* Knowledge of other Identity tools (e.g., Quest Change Auditor, Active Roles).
* Understanding of Agile and Systems thinking.
* PowerShell scripting.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
* Broad IT knowledge in Windows environments and specialization in Active Directory Technology.
