Warehouse / FLT Operative
Kempston, Bedford
£13.50 per hour (£26,000 per year)

A successful and well-established warehousing and materials stockist business based in Kempston, Bedford are currently looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative with experience of Forklift Truck Driving and a Full UK Driving Licence to join their team in a permanent position.
Duties will include:
Manual handling of metal bars, lengths and tube - pulling out of racking and stacking accordingly
Logging deliveries & material information onto the warehouse computer system
Using a Counterbalance FLT to load & unload vehicles, and put stock away into / retrieve from racking and to move materials to cutting areas or despatch
Using power tools including nail guns, drills, screwdrivers and saws to produce various wooden crates and boxes to package metal items ready for despatch to customers
Occasional driving of a flatbed transit van, to deliver products to customers (usually once per week / fortnight organised on a rota system)
Using tape measures and gauges to measure metal stock accurately to check for customer order requirements
Using bandsaw to cut metal bars to length (full training on machinery will be provided)
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Working as part of a small team, carrying out other warehouse-related duties as and when required
Requirements / Previous Experience:
Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is essential
A previous or current Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence, and driving experience is required (refresher training can be given if licence has expired)
A valid, clean UK driving licence is essential (minor points accepted)
Operating hand and power tools ideally (but not essential)
The physical ability to regularly manually handle and move materials and products weighing up to 25kg is essential
